Presenters in 2009

The Evanston Green Living Festival is proud to have two prominent environmental thought leaders as the presenters at this year's festival.

The Keynote Speaker for this year's festival will be Howard Learner, the President of the Environmental Law and Policy Center (ELPC) - the Midwest’s leading environmental legal advocacy and eco-business innovation organization.  He is responsible for the overall strategic leadership and program direction for ELPC's work to promote clean energy development solutions to global warming problems, improve the Midwest's environmental quality, and preserve the region's natural resources and heritage.  Mr. Learner has been a recipient of ACEEE’s National Champion of Energy Efficiency Award for Energy Policy.  Howard will be speaking at 12:00 Noon in the multi-purpose room of the Evanston Ecology Center and the title of his presentation is "Creating Evanston's Green Economy While Solving Global Warming Problems".

The Festival is also happy to have Manda Aufochs
Gillespie
, a.k.a. The Green Mama, present "Live
Green, Save Green,"
designed to offer real-world
solutions for living sustainably while juggling the
financial restraints we all face in the difficult current economy.  Her talk will begin at 1:30PM in the Ecology Center.  A respected environmentalist, writer, teacher and consultant, Ms. Aufochs Gillespie
is known as a green parenting expert who's appeared in both print publications and on television.  She's
consulted for green boutiques, Chicago's first green
daycare, and many other businesses, and works with families and gives workshops on Green Parenting and living green.  She's also bringing The Green Mama Cafe -- a series of green parenting classes -- to the Evanston Ecology Center, starting on September 14th.
